Depression and Anxiety Service to promote mental health at Exeter parkrun

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Mental health, News, Recovery and wellbeing on 21st September, 2018

Every Saturday morning at 9am parkruns take place across the country. They are free and open to everyone.

On Saturday 29 September the Exeter Riverside Run Director Mike Feighan (pictured), who is an Occupational Therapist at Langdon Hospital, will be joined by Becky Davies from Exeter Depression and Anxiety Service (DAS). Becky is a High Intensity Therapist with DAS and will host a table after the running event to promote awareness of mental health, particularly men’s mental health. Together, both Becky and Mike will be available to discuss mental health as it relates to physical exercise.

The Exeter parkrun regularly attracts in excess of 300 participants every week. Runners, joggers, walkers, dawdlers and anyone interested are welcome to join Becky and Mike at the event. You may have questions they can help with or you may have ideas about how to develop services and initiatives to promote physical health in tandem with mental health.
