This week we have been celebrating the theme of 'Express Yourself' for Children's Mental Health Week, an annual awareness week led by Place2Be, a children’s mental health charity that provides counselling and mental health support and training in UK schools.
Earlier in the week our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) asked young people to share how they like to 'express themselves'.
Thanks so much to the young people for their creative submissions so far; Lexi's artwork; Robin aged 10 who says his snowy photo taken at Fogintor Quarry near Tavistock makes him feel happy and calm, Phoebe for her digital art and Malcolm and Immi for their lovely poetry.
Anxiety and me
Anxiety and me, or do you disagree?
Endless panic attacks and dread
It means I really struggle to go bed
Constantly worrying about “dizzy spells”
The feeling like I'm floating I'm in a middle of a stormy sea
Anxiety and me
Even the palms of my hands are crying
Why does it feel like I'm dying
Anxiety and me
I don't know why
It makes no sense
I just want to feel something less intense
Breathe in and breathe out
I'll be fine without a doubt
Anxiety and me
I'm getting there, but where?
I know that people care
Breathe in.. 123
Anxiety and me
