COVID-19 charity appeal

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Charity, News on 21st April, 2020

Our staff have been working hard to ensure the current outbreak of COVID-19 doesn’t prevent them from helping people who access mental health or learning disability support. Our organisation is keeping its services going as much as possible, and has made a number of alterations to how it operates to ensure it is still available for people who use our services.

Our charity helps our staff to go the extra mile in helping both adults and children with mental health and learning disability needs. Some of our fabulous fundraisers have previously raised money for new gym equipmeny, visits from therapy dogs and ward refurbishments.

The support we have already received from our local community has been incredible. In the last two weeks thirty Just Giving pages have been set up raising in excess of £4,500 already.

We have listened to people's desire to help and today we are launching a fundraising appeal. The money raised will be used to support our staff and patients through these difficult times both now and in the future.

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic is a physical health emergency, but it is also a mental health emergency. Looking after your mental health has never been as important as it is now.

The focus of the launch of our appeal is to get our community to share how they’re looking after their own wellbeing during lockdown and donate to our Just Giving campaign. We would love for as many people as possible to take part in the campaign so that we can get the message out far and wide.

Our Campaign

Looking after your mental health has never been as important as it is now. We want you to help by sharing how you’re looking after your own wellbeing and raise money for mental health and learning disability services in Devon during COVID-19.

Why? Because #mindsmatter. Let’s fill our social media timelines with positive and uplifting images and share ideas for overcoming feelings of isolation and anxiety.

You can find support and ideas on our five ways of wellbeing by clicking here

Simply:
Share a picture to your social media which shows how you are supporting your mental health during this crisis. This could be spending time with your children, calling a friend, exercising in nature, whatever you find lifts your mood. Then, copy and paste the text below and tag three of your friends asking them to do the same.

Copy and paste:
