Consultant Physician at the Laurels Gender Identity Clinic Dr Sathish Thomas-William is climbing to Everest Base Camp on April 29.
He hopes to raise money for the Devon Partnership Trust Charity and will be joined by three friends on the climb which will last 14 days.
Sathish said: "Climbing to Everest Base Camp was once a distant dream but with a team of three friends it has started to take shape into a reality. Together we have decided to bring that dream back home and in the process do our individual best to make it worthwhile for those in need. I am supporting the Devon Partnership Trust Charity towards Transgender Awareness and to support to the great work provided by the staff at the Laurels Gender Identity Clinic."
The group are due to finish the self-funded trek on May 12.
