On this special occasion, we extend our gratitude to all of our dedicated professionals, including registered Learning Disability Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Nursing Associates and Apprentices, for their continued hard work and commitment to people with learning disabilities and their families across Devon.

We are continuously developing different routes into this fantastic branch of nursing, offering apprenticeship opportunities with Open University and Plymouth Marjon University. At present, we have 20 Nursing Apprentices enrolled in these programmes, with qualifications expected between 2024 and 2027.

Learning Disability Nurses Day

The UK Learning Disability Consultant Nurse Network (UKLDCNN) has established an annual day to celebrate learning disability nurses and raise the profile on their profession as a positive career choice. They have worked in conjunction with the UK and Ireland based Learning/Intellectual Disability Nursing Academic Network (LIDNAN).
