Back in January, we posted a story called 'Butterfly Conservation as a Metaphor for Recovery' which gave detail about a course of the same name created in partnership between Devon Recovery Learning Community and Butterfly Conservation.
The course offered those with mental health challenges the opportunity to learn about butterflies and their conservation whilst reflecting on their own journey of recovery. To read the story in full, click here.
Butterfly Conservation have created a little film called 'All the Moor Butterflies' detailing how this particular conservation project, aided by those on the 'Butterfly Conservation as a Metaphor for Recovery' DRLC course, has improved habitat conditions for moths and butterflies and raised awareness of those endangered butterfly and moth species on Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.
Caroline Nicholson, Manager at Devon Recovery Learning Community, features in the film and comments about the importance of being out in nature and how giving back to the community can be of vital importance to our mental health.
