Access support for anxiety from TALKWORKS
Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Mental health, News on 15th May, 2023
will be at the Devon County Show
from Thursday 18 – Saturday 20 May. The team will be raising awareness of the mental health support available to adults across Devon, and how TALKWORKS can help if you are struggling.
With the show taking place midway through Mental Health Awareness Week
, TALKWORKS will be raising awareness of anxiety (this year’s theme), and some of the signs and symptoms to look out for. The team will be running a ‘Beat the Buzz’ game which looks at anxiety and our body’s physical response to threat. Anyone who manages to complete the game will get to have a go in their lucky dip and be in with the chance of winning a prize.
If you are struggling with increased stress, worry or are feeling anxious, you do not need to go through this on your own. TALKWORKS can offer support around managing anxiety in a number of different ways, including:
• One-to-one sessions with a therapist (face-to-face, over the phone or by video call)
You do not need a referral from a GP to access TALKWORKS’ services, you can refer yourself online or over the phone. The service is part of the NHS and free to access for adults (age 18+) living across Devon (outside Plymouth which has its own service called Plymouth Options). For more information on the different treatment options and therapy services, please visit the TALKWORKS website
