Last week’s Open Days at the new Dewnans Centre saw more than 100 people, including Trust staff, governors, commissioners, councillors, the Mayor of Dawlish, families and carers taking up the opportunity to get a glimpse inside the new £27m medium secure unit at Langdon.
Those attending were impressed with the design and state-of-the-art facilities of the wards and the overall Dewnans Centre, with families and carers welcoming the opportunity to see the new build and to speak with a range of professionals to help them address individual anxieties that they had about their relative’s forthcoming move. They came away reassured that the Dewnans Centre will provide a safe, modern and therapeutic environment for everyone using the facility and for those staff who will be working there.
