Next year sees the 10th Anniversary of MINDFUL EMPLOYER.
Started simply as a local initiative in Exeter in 2004, MINDFUL EMPLOYER has since attracted support and interest from all over the UK with hundreds of employers using it’s innovative approach to improve workplace support for people with a mental health condition.
We are planning several things to celebrate the 10th anniversary – so, firstly, here’s a date for your diary: Wednesday 15 October 2014 will see a major conference in Exeter with Dame Carol Black, Pen Hadow, Dr Steve Boorman, Liggy Webb and others and workshops on a range of very relevant topics. More details are now available at www.mindfulemployer.net/conference and you will automatically be sent further information in mid-January when bookings go live.
Also looking towards next year’s milestone, we have recently carried out a survey of employees who work for a selection of Charter signatories. This the first time we have sought to gather the views of employees in such detail and depth. We had a tremendous response and are now in the process of analysing the 2,600 contributions. Details of the findings will be available in January.
Having already been launched in Australia and New Zealand, we are delighted to announce that last week saw the start of MINDFUL EMPLOYER Canada. Mary Ann Baynton & Associates are developing the initiative and they have already secured a number of signatories to the Charter over there – visit www.mindfulemployer.ca for more information.
